The base is composed by silver nautilus and shells where are placed four gilt bronze sculptures representing Poseidon The God Of The Sea Husband Of Amhitrite, they support the upper part composed by sea shells, where are placed four stunning sea horses called in greek mythology hippocampus, also in gilt bronze.
In the center of the opening lid there are gilted bronze sculptures, depicting Amphitrite, the Poseidon wife , surrounded by two Tritons; his sons,half children half fish, with their twisted shells, on which they blew like trumpet to calm or raise the waves, holding the silver reins of the four hippocampus.
